STAINLESS STEEL
AISI 201LN | EN 1.4371
Description
Stainless Steel 201LN is a low-nickel, nitrogen-enhanced austenitic stainless steel grade that has good corrosion resistance, high-temperature strength, and good mechanical properties. Stainless Steel 201LN is a cheaper alternative to the traditional Cr-Ni austenitic stainless steels such as grade 304. It has good resistance to oxidation, easy fabrication, and excellent toughness even in low temperatures. Its high elongation allows bending and forming. It is not expensive as lower cost nitrogen and manganese are added as partial alternative for nickel.
The nitrogen content enhances the pitting resistance of this grade, making it suitable for use in aggressive environments. The yield and tensile strengths of the grade increases when temperature is decreased. The steel is non-magnetic, and is available in sheet and plate forms. It has good resistance to corrosion, excellent mechanical strength, and increased hardness. It is reasonable to expect specifications in these standards to be similar but not necessarily identical to those given in this data sheet.
