Description

Stainless steel grade 317L is a low carbon version of grade 317 stainless steel. It has the same high strength and corrosion resistance as 317 steel but can produce stronger welds due to the low carbon content. It has better general and localized corrosion resistance compared to 316/316L stainless steel. It has good formability and weldability. The alloy showcases increased resistance to chemical attack from acids. The lower carbon content leads to resistance to sensitization when welded. The alloy is has non-magnetic properties. It is reasonable to expect specifications in these standards to be similar but not necessarily identical to those given in this data sheet.
