STAINLESS STEEL
AISI 436 | EN 1.4526
Description
Stainless Steel 436 is a modification of stainless steel grade 430 with columbium and molybdenum added to reduce the tendency of wavy lines, or roping, during forming. It has improved corrosion resistance and weldability. Corrosion resistance of the material is not equal to the 300 series. This alloy is highly magnetic with satisfactory abrasion resistance. It can be polished to appear similar to Chromium plate. The alloy is resistant to atmospheric corrosion and fresh water, but it not resistant to most salts and seawater. It is reasonable to expect specifications in these standards to be similar but not necessarily identical to those given in this data sheet.
