Ti Grade 3: High-Strength Titanium Alloy for Corrosion-Resistant Applications and Equipment
Description
Commercially pure titanium alloys an be altered via small quantities of oxygen and iron, that tend to influence the mechanical properties. Each commercial grade is suited for different applications.
Grade 3 Unalloyed Ti ("Pure") 65A alloy is a general purpose alloy that is non-magnetic, and has excellent corrosion resistance in highly oxidizing to mildly reducing environments and excellent strength to weight ratio. It is a slightly stronger version of grade 2 titanium alloy. It also has good impact properties at low temperatures.
It is reasonable to expect specifications in these standards to be similar but not necessarily identical to those given in this data sheet.
Applications of Ti Grade 3
- Navy ship parts
- Chemical processing equipment
- Power plant cooling system components
