STAINLESS STEEL
AISI 305 | EN 1.4303
Description
Raykam 305 is a chromium nickel austenitic stainless steel with a low rate of work hardening due to the elevated nickel content. This low rate of work hardening makes this grade well suited for multi-stage deep drawing applications without process annealing where 304/304L may suffer from cracking issues.
In order to minimize earring during drawing, the directionality introduced during cold rolling must be kept to a minimum amount. Deep drawing quality should be noted when ordering this alloy. It is non-magnetic in the annealed and cold worked conditions and has corrosion resistance similar to 304/304L stainless steel. The Deep drawability is higher than standard 304 grade. It is reasonable to expect specifications in these standards to be similar but not necessarily identical to those given in this data sheet.
Applications of 305
- Spun or deep drawn eyelets
- Barrels
- Shells
- Cold headed rivets or screws
- Deep Drawn Parts
- Cutlery, e.g. Cups, Pans
- Mixing Bowls
- Automotive Industry
- Food Processing Industry
- Heat Exchangers
- Reators, Pumps, Valves, etc.
