CARBON STEEL
C1015 | EN 1.0401
Description
Carbon Steel C1015 is a low carbon alloy with Carbon content of 0.15%. The alloy shows the characteristics of High Machinability, High Ductility and High Weldability. Mild steel (iron containing a small percentage of carbon, strong and tough but not readily tempered), also known as plain-carbon steel and low-carbon steel, is now the most common form of steel because its price is relatively low while it provides material properties that are acceptable for many applications. Low-carbon steels contain less carbon than other steels and are easier to cold-form, making them easier to handle.
Applications of C1015
- Automotive Components
- Structural Steel
- Wiring Applications
- Consumer Appliances
- Machinery
- Forgings
- Pipes and Tubing
- Extruded, Cold Headed, Cold Upset, and Cold Pressed Parts and Forms
